World Research Hub (WRH) Program

Science Tokyo aims to serve as a university co-creating with the world to achieve a shared vision. To this aim, exchanges backed by a strong network of international researchers are essential. The World Research Hub (WRH) Program promotes international researcher networking by supporting overseas researcher invitations and faculty research abroad.

Overseas Researcher Invitation

Provides funding and administrative assistance for inviting world-class researchers to Science Tokyo. The support is offered to encourage new international collaborations or deepening and expansion of existing collaborations, as well as to provide opportunities for early-career researchers and students to interact with prominent overseas researchers.

  • Flexible invitation periods ranging from 1 week to 12 months
  • Multiple visits over two fiscal years also possible
  • Supported expenses include round-trip flights and stipend/wage during stay
  • English-speaking staff assist with visas, flight arrangements, and other administrative procedures

Faculty Research Abroad

Provides funding and administrative assistance for Science Tokyo faculty members to conduct extended research stays abroad. The support is offered to encourage new international collaborations or deepening and expansion of existing collaborations.

  • Supported expenses include round-trip flights, accommodation, and per diem
  • Supports single or multiple destinations
