Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research [Support for the start of research activities]
The “Support for the Start of Research Activities” is intended to support the research conducted by researchers who have just been hired by research institutes, and is expected to be used as an immediate research fund for these researchers. As a general rule, you can only apply once in your researcher career. On the other hand, although it is often overlooked, researchers who have returned from maternity leave, childcare leave, etc., or researchers who have lost their eligibility to apply for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research due to reasons such as belonging to a foreign research institution may also be eligible to apply for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research after returning to their home countries. Please check the application requirements and apply actively.
The Research Development Center (RD Center) will provide support for those who are planning to apply for the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (support for the start of research activities) for the Reiwa 7 (2025) fiscal year. If you are thinking of applying, please make use of it.
